Moving to a new blog

I am in the process of designing my new blog, so this one will sit unattended for a bit.  I’ll post back with the link when I’m up and running!

And baby makes… 5?

Remember the “crazy kids” lifestyle session?  Well those little nutters have a brand new baby sister, and she is SO incredibly sweet.  She was 4 days old when we did this session and was such a little peanut.   Since the parents already have two boys, this little girl is extra special!  Here’s a sneak peek!

Viva Arts Auction!

I’m so proud to donate a photography package to the Viva Arts Auction on Sept. 27th!  There will be food, wine, art, and live music from the 40’s and 50’s (best musical era ever!)  How can you not want to go?  Plus I’m pretty sure Diablo Magazine will be there covering the event for their [...]

Holiday Mini-Sessions!

09.24.08 UPDATE: I’m having to cancel the mini-sessions due to “full” session requests!  I didn’t expect that to happen, but the people have spoken!  Mini sessions will happen again in late spring…
At last!  I’ve gotten all of my photo ducks in a row!  There are only 8 slots available and I’ve got three of them [...]

New gallery mount upgrade options!

In my search to find the perfect frame for my custom storyboards, I was directed to these fabulous gallery mounts!  Your storyboard is fused to a dense wood-like substance (not sure of the technical term!) and laminated.  These come ready to hang and are finished with a beveled edge (white or black.)  Even though there [...]

My little brag book

I used to carry very basic proof books, but recently started carrying sturdier, better looking 4×5 books.  These are simple yet elegant.  And since they are so fabulous, I needed a better name for them than “proof book”, so now I call them brag books!  These are perfect for carrying around in your purse, and [...]

Our Sesame

One of the things I never really thought about before having kids was how unbelievably difficult it can be to find a good sitter, so when we stumbled upon Sesame (naturally not her real name, but a little friend of ours started calling her that, and it sorta stuck.)  we were extra thrilled!
Here are some [...]

Sneak Peek! The last of the PH mini sessions

As promised, here are the last few pictures from our super-speedy-mini-sessions last Sunday in Pleasant Hill, CA.  The first set is of a brother and sister (and mama!) who I have had the pleasure of working with in the past.  The little girl is a riot as she is either posing or dancing, and sometimes both!

And then [...]

Martha Stewart’s Everyday Food Cooking Demo/Class Shoot

Last weekend I had such a great time shooting two fabulous editors from Everyday Food while they taught/demo-ed recipes from this months issue.  The class was packed and held in the Viking Cooking School in downtown Walnut Creek.  It was a long day, and I was absolutely exhausted at the end of it, but I’d do it [...]

Martha Stewart’s Everyday Food Magazine

Exciting news!  July 12 & 13th the editors of EVERYDAY FOOD will be at the Viking Cooking school here in downtown Walnut Creek, CA.   And I’ve been hired to shoot the Sunday event!  I’m am really thrilled to be doing this because I really love their work and just know it will be done so well [...]

Smoke Gets In Your Eyes…

Tomorrow’s mini-session has been rescheduled due to smoke.  Yes, smoke.  There are so many fires in California, that although it creates some pretty cool light (think golden sunset at 9am!), it isn’t so healthy to be out in — especially for for the little ones.  So I’m moving the session to Sunday night July 20th.  [...]

Monterey Bay in September

Since I have family in Monterey, I travel down that way frequently — okay, not so frequently these days, but I really should as one of my brothers just turned 21 and the other will be driving soon, and I’m realizing that time is flying by at breakneck speed!  I keep thinking they are still 9 and 3.
I’ve [...]

Now accepting credit cards!

I made the switch and am now accepting credit cards directly!  What does this mean for you?  Now you can pay for your session and product orders over the phone… no more Paypal.  (Probably a bigger deal for me than for my clients!)

My email has been wonky…

I think we’ve fixed the problem.  I usually answer my emails within 24 hours, so if you haven’t heard back from me, please call.  925.575.0581  Thanks!

Happy Fathers Day – a little tribute

In my work I am constantly reminded of the special relationship between a dad and his children.  I see them play, laugh, and most importantly, care.  It will always remind of my own dad and grandpa (a.k.a. Boppa or Bop, or now that he is a great-grandpa, Big Bop!)  Here are a few of my [...]

June is fully booked – now looking to July

Wow, things are really moving!  I cannot take any more sessions this month – except newborns.  I can always make time for the new babies, but do be sure to book before your due-date.   I like to take pictures between 4-10 days, and 6 days is ideal.  That gives mama enough time to rest and the [...]

How cute is this little fella?

Ohhhh… the nakie babies are my favorite!  The room had great windows, so I thought I had it made, but alas the sun was not my friend.   Even still I am very happy with the bright feel these have, although it would have been nice to effortlessly click away.  And the fact that the little guy is quick [...]

Danville Mini-Session FULL (but not closed)

I’ve booked out the three slots I planned on, but if you wanted to join us, I might be able to add one (maybe two) spots after 7:15.  Email before Wednesday June 4th to reserve – jennifer@jchaney.com
Pleasant Hill, CA still has some openings, but I also have a few unconfirmed who want the sessions, so let me know [...]
